ABSTRACT
Main pancreatic duct injury is one of the serious complications of abdominal blunt trauma. When main pancreatic duct injury happens, early diagnosis and optimal treatment are very important to prevent subsequent complications. Endoscopic retrograde pancreatography(ERP) is considered as the best modality for highly suspicious patients with the injury because it gives us detailed and exact information of pancreatic duct injury and therapeutic intervention could be performed during the procedure. Although surgical treatment is currently the main stay of therapy for main pancreatic duct injury, medical therapy including endoscopic placement of transpapillary stents is also a potential alternative to operative management. We experienced successful non-surgical management in 74 years-old male patient with postoperative pancreatic injury.
